Wal-Mart

336x280 Ok so I have been sick all week and really wanted to take off of work for a day to rest up so my wife and son wouldn’t catch what I have but things kept coming up and I didn’t have a day I could take off until Friday. So Friday comes and I take the day off and take my son to school and then proceed to lay on the couch to kick this bug.

Nothing was on TV so I decide to see what was on demand and see what movies I could watch, I found this documentary about Wal-Mart, now this was some thing I wanted to see because one of my classes in school when I was finishing my B.A was about world culture and the main focus of the class was Wal-Mart. The movie I watch on Wal-Mart on Friday was like nothing I had seen before, just the way the company treats the community it is in and the people who live and work there was disturbing.

Since I have seen that documentary I have vowed to never shop there or Sams club which they own also ever again. I am also getting my friends and family to do the same by shopping in other stores. Even though it ay seem like this only affects small towns, in reality the affects are felt by all of us.

I set out online to find some information about people who are standing up to this company and found a few websites that I felt needed mentioning, here are some links to them and I urge anyone reading this to not just take my word for it but to look into it on your own and see how building a Wal-mart in you community will affect you and your kids.
